Au Jus
Ingredients
¼ cup Beef Fat Drippings, from a prime rib or other roast
1-1½ teaspoons Arrowroot Powder (depending on desired thickness of sauce)
2 cups Organic Beef Broth
½ teaspoon Sea Salt, or to taste
¼ teaspoon Black Pepper, freshly ground, or to taste
Directions
1. Pour half of the broth into a mason jar with arrowroot, screw lid on and shake until incorporated and all lumps are removed
2. Add a teaspoon of drippings to the mixture
3. Pour into the pan with remaining beef broth and drippings
4. Deglaze the pan by scraping the bottom of the pan and incorporating drippings with the broth
5. Increase heat to high and bring mixture to a boil
6. Boil mixture until it thickens slightly; season with salt and pepper to taste
